Jhadol Block
Seva Mandir has worked in Jhadol block since 1981, when it began its Adult Education Programme in the block. Jhadol Block covers an area of 144,100 hectares and is divided into 8 zones. It is located in the southwestern portion of Udaipur district in the Aravelli mountain range. Rainfall is relatively high for the region, up until recently Jhadol was covered in dense forests. However, in the last few decades forest cover has been depleted due to logging, resulting in a loss of fertile topsoil.
The population of Jhadol is 193,810 inhabitants, with 70% of them tribal.
Seva Mandir currently works in 183 villages in the region.

Challenges
- Road access to interior regions during the monsoon season completely impossible.
- Livestock productivity is poor and so residents depend on subsistence farming. Agriculture, however is facing many problems as well with recent draughts, and loss of top soil and soil degradation.
- Urban migration is widespread
