Referral Health Centers
Referral Health Centers aim to provide basic treatment and referral services to villages, which do not have access to any other health facility.
The need:
- There is a lack of health services and facilities available to local communities.
- Communities seek care from private practitioners who are mostly unqualified and expensive.
Current Status:
- Seva Mandir manages two Referral Health Centers in Kojawada (Kherwada block) and Kochla (Jhadol block)
- Kojawada is staffed by a residential MBBS Doctor and a female doctor, specializing in gynecological issues, who visits twice a week. Kojawada has both out-patient facilities and an in-patient facility with 11 beds and facilities for pathological investigations.
- Kochla RHC has out-patient facilities and basic pathological investigation facilities. It is staffed by a full time nurse and has a female docotr visiting once a week.
Impact:
In 2009-2010, 782 patients received treatment services at the Kochla RHC and 3796 patients received treatment and referral services at the Kojawara RHC.
