Seva Mandir’s volunteer and internship program provides an opportunity to gain an insight into the development sector through hands-on grassroots work. We host over 100 interns a year, and believe that they can have a large impact.
• Interns have worked across all our program areas
• Interns have the opportunity to spend a significant amount of time in the field
• The most successful interns at Seva Mandir show a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
• Seva Mandir interns are of all ages, races and nationalities. They are seeking to gain work and life experience, and want to contribute something back to society.
Seva Mandir hosts interns from leading academic institutions across India (IRMA, TISS, ICFAI, IIFM) and from universities abroad (Yale, Columbia, Duke, Amherst and St. Mary’s). We also receive interns through internship programs such as those at the National Foundation of India, Volunteer Services Overseas, America India Foundation and the Foundation for Sustainable Development.
Interns may also develop a custom project according to their interests and the needs of the organization.
If accepted, interns are usually offered free housing on the Seva Mandir campus.
