The People’s Management School (PMS) was formed in 1991 with an objective of capacity building and creation of systems at various levels in the development sector to enable effective bottom-up development.

The programme works at 3 levels: -

  1. The community level - for optimal management of various available resources and the efforts towards overall development with a participatory approach.
  2. The organization level - for capacity building of staff.
  3. The external level - for liasioning with the funding agencies, other organizations, Govt. and public departments.

The work of People’s Management School work encompasses the following activities:

  • Research, documentation and dissemination of studies and programmes.
  • Publications of Seva Mandir including activity and progress report, working papers, institutional literature magazine etc..
  • Improving organizational systems and structures through ongoing Evaluation of programs
  • Training and orientation of Seva Mandir staff
  • Setting up retreat, reflection and self-study for field staff
  • Linking with external agencies and individuals to increase cooperation for development

This work is undertaken through Cells located within the People’s Management School:

  1. The Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Cell
  2. The Training cell;
  3. The Social Environment Cell
  4. The Communications Cell
