Volunteer
Seva Mandir’s volunteer and internship program provides an opportunity for people to gain an insight into the development sector through hands on grassroots’ work. Hosting over 150 interns a year, the equivalent of 50% of our staff, Seva Mandir volunteers can have a large impact here:
- Volunteers have been a strong source of support for various programs, by lending their expertise and knowledge to help improve them.
- Volunteers are an unbiased, outside perspective to evaluate our programs and offer recommendations to help improve them
- Seva Mandir’s volunteer and internship program also allows students studying in institutions both in India and across the world an opportunity to participate in research and fieldwork.
- Seva Mandir’s volunteer program helps establish relationships with individuals from various parts of the world and spreads the message about Seva Madnir’s work and philosophies.
Seva Mandir volunteers are of all ages and races, seeking to gain work and life experiences, on a quest to learn something new and contribute something back to society.
Seva Mandir also hosts students from academic institutions who are required to intern with organizations like Seva Mandir as part of their curriculum. Seva Mandir has been hosting over 60 interns a year from leading institutes across India like IRMA, TISS, ICFAI, IIFM as well as from universities abroad like Yale, Columbia, Duke, Amherst and St. Mary’s University.
Seva Mandir also received interns from internship programmers of the National Foundation of India, Volunteer Services Overseas, America india Foundation (AIF) and Foundation for Sustainable Development (FSD, USA).
