Fund Raise
Organize an event to raise money for a Seva Mandir program that is close to your heart.
A couple of our friends and volunteers have organized fund raisers to support programs that they care about.
1) Rashu, Omar and Marina 21K
Rashu and Omar are running in Marina 21K to support Seva Mandir. The following piece is written by Rashu – as why are they running -
“I decided to run this to raise funds for building a small computer library at the Kaya Learning Center run by Seva Mandir. I was impressed by my visit to the center in February 2011- but noticed th e lack of electronic learning. Children at the center would benefit tremendously with the introduction of computers to aid their learining experience. They will learn to become at par with kids in the city; and also be eligible for better and higher paying jobs. Basic computer skills are essential to succeed in today’s world; and through my involvement with Seva Mandir, I want to empower these kids to be successful”. Know more
2) Priya Shankar and the Dance Performance:
Our friend and ex volunteer Ms. Priya Shankar from the US had organized a dance event to support Short Stay Home (Sambal – a refuge center for women in distress) city in early 2011. She raised USD 10,000 for this program. The picture you see is the flyer used for publicity and advertising. Priya has worked on various projects at Seva Mandir and was also actively involved with the Short Stay Home Program. She is also an accomplished Bharat Natyam Dancer. Seva Mandir and The Friends of Seva Mandir USA, Inc provided support through publicity for this event.
